Sport Industry Award for Maldives Road Race

Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) has won the Bronze Award for the Best Use of Technology in Sports at the prestigious Sports Industry Awards Asia 2019 (SPIA). This race relied on MYLAPS technology for their timing with the BibTag System and offered extra  raceday experience with the use of the MYLAPS EventApp with features like LiveTracking, Selfies and Course Maps.

DMRR was competing against Asian powerhouses such as Rugby World Cup, the FIBA World Cup, Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, the AFF Suzuki Cup, Fitbit and the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi. All categories were judged by a panel of leading industry experts in a rigid four-step judging process in accordance with international sports industry award rules and regulations.

This is the third consecutive year that a MYLAPS-partnered event wins a SPIA award. In 2018 and 2017 the Standard Chartered Kuala Lumpur Marathon has been voted ‘Best Sports Digital Platform of the Year’.
