MYLAPS Sports Timing has its headquarters in the Netherlands with sales and support offices in the USA, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, China, and United Arab Emirates. These are the members of our Leadership Team.
Camiel Slaats
Camiel is CEO of MYLAPS since November 2017.
After graduating as a Master of Science at Utrecht University in the Netherlands Camiel started his career in marketing at Procter & Gamble Benelux where he held several marketing and sales roles. Thereafter he gained sports experience at Nike where he worked for more than 8 years, holding several senior positions in product, sales and general management.
Including his last role leading one of the 6 global Nike regions as VP Sales for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He then spent 6 years in the Board of G-Star having all geographies, sales, retail and E-com report to him. Before joining MYLAPS Camiel was CEO of Vingino, the leading kids denim brand in Europe.
Camiel is married, father of 2 teenagers and crazy of sports. He loves to run and ride his bike, drive a kart, play tennis, padel, football and watch Formula 1 and Ajax.
Rob Verbeek
Rob has joined the Board of Director of MYLAPS in 2010 and is responsible for finance, accounting, tax and legal affairs of the company.
Prior to MYLAPS, Rob gained many years of professional experience as Director of Finance for NH Hoteles and before that as accountant at Deloitte.
He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (Twente University) and is Certified Public Accountant (University of Amsterdam).
Rob is married, father of 2 sons and likes all types of sports, especially rugby. Actively involved in road cycling, touch rugby and squash.
John Verwoerd
John joined the Board of Directors of MYLAPS in 2009 and is responsible for the Innovations and the IT department.
Prior to MYLAPS, John served as Chief Operations Officer of OTB display and Development Manager at VDL ETG.
John holds a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (College of Rotterdam).
In his spare time, he likes to watch arthouse movies, read books and travel.
Daniël van Breugel
Starting at MYLAPS in October 2014, Daniel is responsible for the Software, Marketing and Product Management teams.
His pre-MYLAPS career was in the financial sector at ING (Dutch banking and financial services corporation), working for 10+ years in multiple roles at the intersection of Technology and Business in the field of product development and management.
Daniel holds a degree in electrical engineering with specialization in technical computer science and business administration. He is an all-out sports enthusiast, with main activities in running and road cycling.
Engelbert Gieskes
Since 2018 Engelbert is leading the Motorsports division of MYLAPS as Global Commercial Director.
Before arriving to MYLAPS, Engelbert has had ample experience with Global Sales and Management roles in the Fashion industry, holding international roles within G-Star RAW and Nike.
He’s very passionate and driven about Motorsports and is focused on growing the business at MYLAPS.
Engelbert has a Masters Degree from the Rotterdam School of Management in Business (Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Organization).
Raymond Perin
Raymond studied Business informatics in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and started his working career in IT as a networking engineer. In 2006 he moved to MYLAPS as project manager in a GPS Tracking incubation project of the European Space Agency (ESA) .
From 2011 Raymond started and headed a number of MYLAPS offices in the Asia and Pacific region (Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Beijing). In 2020 he returned to the Netherlands and currently he is commerically reponsible for the Active Sports Business.
In his free time you can find Ray in running events, on the water or in the snow.
Sherry van Leemput
Prior to her career switch to HR, Sherry was part of the MT of EBSCO Information Services for Europe & South Africa with Operations/Customer Services as her expertise.
Sherry joined MYLAPS in 2016 and became member of the Leadership Team in 2017. Her motto is that HR is about discovering what drives people to contribute to the organization’s success.
She started HR in recruitment followed by HR Business Partner and later HR Manager. Companies like ENHR Solutions, TNT, UPD and Albelli gave her an excellent background in HR, which is, in combination to her business knowledge, valuable to companies like MYLAPS who have continuous growth in their core values.
Sherry graduated in Tourism (College of Leiden) followed by HBO graduation in Personnel & Change Management (NTI), completed by courses in coaching and applied psychology. Her sports are tennis, skiing, and fitness. She likes to read and enjoys good walks with her dogs.
Hamid Godaei
Hamid joined the MYLAPS team in 2016 as Hardware development manager. In 2018 he became part of the Leadership Team. Currently Hamid is responsible for Operations and Technical support of the company.
Prior to MYLAPS, Hamid gained professional experience as Product Design Manager for Novacom Europe (a General Electric company) and prior to that he had Hardware/Software developing roles at various companies.
Hamid holds a degree in Electronics Engineering (University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam).
He is married, father of 2 sons and a daughter. He loves mountain biking with his sons, watching them play rugby and going on family hiking trips.
Jeroen Willemse
After his studies in Geology and Computer Sciences Jeroen joined AMB-it in 2004 as a graduate intern at the R&D department. Here Jeroen grew from Developer to Project Manager to Team Lead.
To expand his knowledge about the world Jeroen left MYLAPS in 2016 to travel in a Land Cruiser camper conversion, driving from Haarlem (NL) to Harlem (USA), the long way round.
Upon returning Jeroen found himself missing the exceptional people and products at MYLAPS and rejoined the Hardware team early 2019, taking on new challenges to help deliver the TR2 transponder, ProChip Smart Decoder, and the X2 Race Control system.
From 2021 Jeroen joined the MYLAPS Leadership Team to become responsible for all Hardware product development.
