MYLAPS Sports Timing and IRONMAN Europe announce a 3-year agreement to enhance the race experience for more than 75,000 triathletes. The participants of most IRONMAN races (around 30 events per year) across Europe will be ensured of the latest developments in timekeeping.
Many IRONMAN race directors and participants are familiar with the MYLAPS timing technology, that has been used at several IRONMAN races across the globe. Founded in 1982, MYLAPS is the inventor of automatic sports timing and develops technology that is used all over the world, from the Olympics and MotoGP to countless local races.
MYLAPS Event Timing supported by local timing partners
For this partnership IRONMAN Europe works together with the timing staff from MYLAPS Event Timing, supported by local MYLAPS timing partners across Europe. These races will be timed with the ProChip System, the standard for high-speed sports with an accuracy up to 0.003 seconds. The newly launched ProChip Smart Decoder is the smallest and lightest timing decoder in the industry. This setup has recently been used at IRONMAN 70.3 Dubai in March, which resulted in smooth and accurate results for all participants.
